Placing Calls and Sending Texts in Xgate Phone with Redport Glow

Step 1: Connect device to the Glow or Router's WiFi network

Step 2: Confirm the Xgate Phone App configuration for communication with the Glow

      More Options: ON
      Account Enabled: ON
      Default Account: ON
      Push Notification: OFF
      Username: 201 (or 202, 203, 204)
  1. With standard Glow setups, this will be 201.  If used with SIP Trunk connected to an Optimizer, it may be 202.
      Display Name: (left blank)
      UserID: 201 (or 202, 203, 203)
  1. UserID should match the Username
      Password: 1234
      Server: 192.168.10.1 (default)
  1. The Server should be the IP address of the Glow itself when connected to the Glow's WiFi network.  Default is 192.168.10.1, but it may be modified to 192.168.12.1 or another IP address if the Glow is connected to an Optimizer.  Double check in the Glow's Network settings page if unsure.
  2. If connected to an Optimizer Premier using SIP Trunk with a Glow, then the IP should be the Optimizer's IP Address, such as 192.168.10.1 or 192.168.11.1.  Double check in the Optimizer's Network settings page if unsure.
  3. If connected to an MBR-550 Router with a Glow connected to the MBR, then the IP should be the Glow's IP Address, typically 192.168.10.1. Double check in the Glow's Network settings page if unsure.
  4. If connected through a Narwhal system, the IP should be the Glow's IP Address, typically 192.168.10.1 similar to MBR-550 configurations.

Step 3: Test a Call
      Place a call through a Redport Glow via Xgate Phone app.
While connected to the Glow's WiFi network directly, or through a Narwhal or MBR-550 router.
For a 10-digit usa phone number such as 206-792-9540, the Glow will accept either of two formats.

                  00 1 206 792 9540

While connected to an Optimizer Voice or Premier, using a SIP Trunk to a Glow, the Optimizer does not understand +, so you use the 00 method only.

Step 4: Test an SMS
      Sending a Text message through a Redport Glow via Xgate Phone app.
Regardless of whether the connection is direct to the Glow or through an Optimizer or other router, dial the SMS recipient number the same way.
